Summer, as always, seems to be passing by way too quickly! I don't have any more little ones in school (no more homeschooling for me) but two are starting back to college soon and sadly, this summer there was no beach, no day trip, nothing... I keep telling myself there is still time for one little hurrah before the cold and wet weather rolls back in and I'm hoping it happens soon! While I wait for my chance, I like to do something creative and that's what today's email is about. It's decoupaging a plain terracotta pot with a leftover paper napkin and some Mod Podge. It takes an afternoon, costs almost nothing, and turns a boring pot into something you would actually want on a shelf. If your own summer hurrah keeps getting pushed, this is a nice small win in the meantime. Hello Reader, That white ring on the coffee table from a cold glass... It's one of those things that makes a whole room look neglected, even when everything else is spotless. I used to think it meant the finish was ruined for good, but it turns out most water stains on wood are fixable with stuff you probably already have in the house. There are a few different methods, and I tried every one of them until I found what actually works, so you don't have to guess. I also broke down how to tell...
Hello Reader, That McDonald's mocha frappe hits different in the summer heat... But $5.19 for a drink that's basically ice and coffee syrup finally got to me, so I started making it at home. Took a few tries to get it right (too watery, too sweet, one attempt genuinely undrinkable) but I finally landed on the version that actually tastes like the real thing. It's a 5 minute recipe, no fancy equipment, and I promise it's way easier than you'd think for something that tastes this good. Get the...
Hello Reader, Is it strange that out of my whole laundry list, sheet day is the one I actually look forward to? Every single time, that first night in freshly washed sheets feels like a tiny reward, and I don't think I will ever get tired of it.... So today I am sharing the whole method behind it. How to Wash Sheets walks through the right water temperature, how much detergent you actually need (it is less than you think), and the one dryer habit that was quietly wearing mine out for years....
